To develop our new 1%CLUB platform, we are looking for a

Python/Django Developer (Medior/Senior)

1%CLUB (onepercentclub.com) is the crowdfunding platform that connects people in developing countries who have smart ideas with people, money, and knowledge from all over the world. We are talking about sustainable projects that improve the self-reliance of individuals and the standard of living everywhere.

The 1%MEMBERS get to choose to which project they want to donate 1% of their income, time, knowledge or skill, based on the online project proposals. Through blogs, photo’s, movies and Google Maps, they can follow the process of ‘their project’online.

1%CLUB is a Dutch initiative that exists since 2007 and has grown quickly since then. We’ve raised €600.000 through crowdfunding online. 252 projects have been financed in over 60 different countries.

We organize an annual 1%EVENT to which 400 people from eight different countries attended last year. There is a monthly 1%SHOW and a Co-Creation here young professionals work on business cases from 1%PROJECTS. In Nairobi (Kenya) an Incubation Lab (NaiLab) has been started for young innovative developers. There are ten employees at 1%CLUB in the Netherlands and three in Kenia. 1%CLUB has over 100 active volunteers and almost 10.000 1%MEMBERS.

Because we’re developing a whole new website, we’re looking for a Python/Django Developer (Medior/Senior).

You’ll be working in a small developing team in Amsterdam with experienced developers. The team will be supplemented, if necessary, with external experts, volunteers from open source community and development teams in Kenya and other international development teams.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• Python & Django
• PostgreSQL/MySQL
• HTML 4 & 5
• Javascript (jQuery, ExtJS, Sencha)
• Versioning, deployment
• (Unit)testing
• CSS 2 & 3
• PHP & Zend Framework (current website)

FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor level (HBO/ WO) 
• 3-5 years of experience
• Passion for good code
• Enthusiastic, a desire to learn and open
• Fluent in English (Must)
• Able to speak Dutch (Nice to Have)
• Good taste of music...
